One visit, then 10-14 nights at home
First visit $89, 60 minutes
We take an impression, make trays that fit only your teeth, and give you the gel with instructions. Done at home over ten to fourteen nights, it lifts most coffee, tea and wine staining. In-chair whitening is faster and harsher; we offer trays because the result lasts longer and the sensitivity is easier to manage.
What it feels like
Some cold sensitivity in the first week, which stops when you stop. Gums can tingle if the tray is overfilled, which is why we show you exactly how much gel to use.
How we treat it
We check first that the color is actually stain and not a dead nerve or a crown, because whitening does not change either.
Cleanings come first. Whitening plaque is a waste of money.
You keep the trays. Topping up for two nights a year afterwards costs the price of a gel syringe.
Common questions
Will it work on crowns or fillings?
No. Porcelain and composite do not lighten, so we plan front fillings for after the whitening, matched to the new shade.
Is it safe for enamel?
Yes, at the concentrations we use. The sensitivity is temporary and does not mean damage.
How long does it last?
One to three years, depending on coffee, tea, red wine and smoking. Two top-up nights brings it back.
What does it cost?
$299 for trays and gel. Replacement gel is $45.
