We keep slots free every morning for pain. Call before ten and you will usually be seen that day, and always the next. The goal of an emergency visit is to get you out of pain and stabilize the tooth; the permanent repair is planned afterwards, when you can think straight.

What it feels like

A tooth that throbs at night, hurts to bite on or reacts to hot needs seeing now. A tooth that twinges with cold and settles in a second usually does not.

How we treat it

Call (734) 555-0184 as early in the day as you can. Tara keeps the morning emergency slots open until they are used.

A knocked-out adult tooth: hold it by the crown, not the root, put it back in the socket or in milk, and come straight in. Within the first hour it can often be saved.

Out of hours, the voicemail gives the number of the on-call dentist for genuine emergencies. Facial swelling that is closing an eye or your throat is a hospital visit, not a dental one.

Can you see me today?

Usually yes if you call in the morning. We keep emergency slots free rather than filling the diary end to end.

What if it is the weekend?

The voicemail has the on-call number. For swelling that affects your breathing or vision, go to the emergency room.

Will you take the tooth out?

Only if it cannot be saved, and only after we have explained what saving it would involve.

What does an emergency visit cost?

$110 for the visit, exam and X-ray. Any treatment is quoted before we start it.
